People who work from home less likely to get pay rises and promotion
Research amongst almost 1000 managers conducted by the University of Warsaw and presented earlier this year to the British Sociological Association showed that, in the UK, people who work from home are less likely to get pay rises and promotions than purely office-based workers.

Tom Lavin has started a new role as global head of operations in the client and market development team at Clifford Chance. He previously spent 11 years at White & Case, most recently as director of marketing operations.

Eight-two per-cent of UK lawyers have adopted generative AI or have plans in motion, almost four-times the number seen a year ago, according to a new report from LexisNexis. You can access the full findings here.
White & Case increase its starting legal apprentice salary
White & Case has increased its starting legal apprentice salary to £32K plus a £1k set-up bonus, bringing first year earnings to the highest in the City. Apprentices will then end up matching the trainee’s first- and second-year salaries of £62k and £67k in years five and six.

Ogier expands London office
Ogier’s London operation has moved to new premises to service growth. The firm now has 70 people attached to its London office following substantial growth in each of the legal, corporate and fiduciary, and specialist business services teams.
